The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU) is focused on bringing together different fields of study to address complex health and technology challenges.
Mazumdar Shaw Philanthropy supports TDU’s clinical study of the correlation between Human Leukocyte Antigens (responsible for the regulation of the human immune system) and Prakriti types (Ayurveda’s classification of an individual’s unique physical and mental constitution), in the context of bone marrow transplantation. The study is an interesting interdisciplinary approach that could yield insights into personalised medicine and treatment outcomes, possibly reduce costs, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of organ transplant. MSP’s support, received in 2019, has been extended till 2025.
