Art
The visual, literary, and performing arts, and the cultural institutions that house them, ennoble and inspire us — fostering creativity and perspective. Art gives meaning to our lives, enables us to investigate our past, question our present and imagine our future. Active engagement with the arts creates understanding, builds empathy and reveals our collective humanity. MSP focuses on the conservation and advancement of art and culture through institutional support and funding of local/regional initiatives. Across research, practice and education, we welcome opportunities to present the richness of Indian art and culture to the world, and make global art accessible to India.

Museum of Art & Photography, India First Founding Patron
“I believe we need MAP now because South Asian cultures represent the cultures of nearly a quarter of the world’s population and yet their stories have not been told. I hope that through the building, the collections, and our online content, we can open up a dialogue with the world in this time when new narratives are being shaped.”
Abhishek Poddar, Founder, MAP
The Museum of Art & Photography (MAP) is redefining the modern Indian museum-going experience through a fresh curatorial approach that redraws the lines between art forms, styles, eras and conventional classifications. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw is MAP’s first founding patron and on its Board of Directors. The MAP Auditorium is named after her.

“Kiran’s generosity has given everyone connected to the Paisley Museum Reimagined project a significant morale boost. Her gift will help to ensure that we realise the project’s full ambition, to showcase the power of culture, in helping to change lives and places for the better. We look forward to a gallery within the museum that will bear John’s name and recognise his lifelong association with Coats.”
