The Mazumdar-Shaw International Oncology Fellowship Program at the Koch Institute introduced me to a world of possibilities and opportunities. First, it provided the necessary support to pursue a risky but rewarding research project, which built the foundation for my independent career as an academic. Second, it introduced me to a group of excellent scientists, who helped me hone my research skills. Finally, it provided me with the flexibility to engage in collaborations on my own, which also helped me establish my independent laboratory. In summary, through this fellowship, I developed the right research skills and collaborations that helped in establishing my independent research laboratory at IISc.
